Bob Downs Memorial Golf Tournament - The SMBC Bob Downs Memorial Golf Tournament promotes fun and friendship, and builds relationships between our church and people who enjoy the game of golf. The tournament plays on some of the finest golf courses in Kentucky.

Easter Eggstravaganza - Our popular Easter Eggstravaganza is held eight days prior to Easter and helps young children experience both the fun and sacred of Easter. Children participate in craft, musical, and game activities, along with an Easter egg hunt.

Evangelism Ministries Team - Training individuals to personally share their faith story and providing organized events to invite non-churched and non-Christians to experience the salvation of Jesus Christ.

Great Parking Lot Party - The Great Parking Lot Party celebrates the beginning of summer and helps lead into Vacation Bible School . The party features games, activities, food, special entertainment and a 5K road race.

Mission Trip-Youth - Each summer, the youth take a mission trip. Various activities on the mission trip include service projects, leading children’s activities, ministering with the homeless, construction projects and just having fun with one another! The mission trip is an excellent way for students to put their faith into action.

Summer Basketball Clinic - Our Summer Basketball Skills Clinic gives children an opportunity to work on basketball fundamentals in a Christian atmosphere. Upward coaches, middle and high school coaches and players and FCA leaders provide leadership.

Super Bowl Grill Out - The Super Bowl Grill Out provides a fun, family-friendly venue where all ages can watch the game, play in the gym or enjoy conversation with friends.

Thanksgiving Party - On the Saturday before Thanksgiving, young children and their families join together for a Thanksgiving Party. We bring canned goods to share with people who are in need. We engage in fun, learning activities all designed to help young families focus on giving thanks in this wonderful Fall season.

Trunk or Treat - Trunk or Treat was held for the first time at St. Matthews Baptist Church in 2004. This “treat” was a wonderful opportunity to contact and witness to families outside our church family, as well as to our own church families. People of all ages were able to experience this festive season within a spiritual context. After “trick or treating” to the trunks of vehicles in our parking lot, a Worship and Praise Service was held outside in the parking lot.

Upward Basketball - Hundreds of boys and girls from our church and community enjoy Upward Basketball, where every child is a winner! Weekly practices include devotions and scripture. Game days give equal playing time with an emphasis on sportsmanship and Christlikeness.

Vacation Bible School for Preschoolers - A special summer week of morning Bible school is scheduled for children ages 3 and older. Children hear Bible stories and participate in Bible activities, crafts, recreation, and music all designed to help children learn more about Jesus.

Vacation Bible School for Children - More people have come to know Jesus as Savior through Vacation Bible School that through any other single outreach event. The week features Bible study, crafts, missions, recreation, refreshments and great music!

Weed Patch - This group with a gardening theme meets at varying times often in different gardens. It encourages unchurched neighbors to join in “garden talk”.
