OUR INTERNATIONAL MISSION PARTNERS
Baptist Seminaries in Liberia - Christians in general, and Baptists in particular, are being persecuted by Islamic fundamentalists in Africa. We provide much needed financial support to the seminary.
Bedouin Baptist Camp - Several years ago we began praying for development of an ongoing gospel witness among the Bedouin people of the Near East. The Baptist camp in Israel helps reach out to Bedouin children and families.
European Baptist Partnership - As Kentucky Baptists, we are in partnership with European Baptists. Several from our congregation have traveled as volunteer missionaries to Europe.
New Church Work in India - In the eastern area of India, where the work of Baptist Christians has been strong, the recent persecution of Christians by Hindus and Muslims has imperiled the formation of new churches. This ministry helps Prosperly Lyngdoh and others begin new home churches.
Philippine Baptist Seminary - This seminary, located in Baguio, provides training and education for ministers serving in Southeast Asia. Their work and our partnership with them are of strategic importance. Missionary Dr. Anne Windus, from SMBC, has taught there, and church member Dr. Jim Chancellor, is a frequent visiting professor in missions.
Zona Juvenil - This special ministry is led by former SMBC member, Mark Wakefield. Mark considers our congregation to be his home church. He is leading a dynamic ministry for street children and youth in desperate areas of this Central American country. |
